RECIPE FOR BROWN GRAVY

Instructions:

Brown Gravy

Yields 1 gallon.

8 ounces butter or margarine
10 ounces all-purpose flour
1 gallon plus 1 cup beef stock
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black or white pepper

Melt butter or margarine in stockpot. Blend in flour and cook on medium heat, stirring frequently until golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Slowly stir in beef stock, onion powder and pepper. Blend well and bring to boil. Reduce heat. Simmer on medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened, 6 to 8 minutes.

Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, rice, meat or poultry.
